So the site has seen a pretty big overhaul over the past day or so. Starting in the upper left with a new logo, kindly designed by FastestClassic. The logo depicts a Centurion Mk. 7/1, and takes some inspiration from the logo of 'The Tank Museum'. Fastest is a wonderful skinner and remodeler. You should check out his site: classicswotworkshop.weebly.com/ If you notice a lot of similarity between my site and his its not a coincidence. Ive taken quite a lot of inspiration from his page. I like the clean style. (Plus we both use the Weebly platform... so there's bound to be a lot of similarity anyway). Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right?
The navigation menus now move as you scroll down the page, meaning you'll no longer need to use the 'Back to Top' feature to navigate around. That'll stick around though, just in case. Speaking of the navigation menus, the 'Permaskin Removals', 'Misc. Skins' and 'Remodels' pages are gone, having been replaced with dropdown menus. This has let me give each skin or remodel its own dedicated page, meaning you'll no longer have to scroll endlessly to find the skin you want (or use 'Ctrl+F'). It also lets me segment out skins for the same tank or that are for a group of tanks (like the leKPz M41 90mm or Berlin Quartet), or segment out skins based on nation.
Beyond those major changes, the header for the home page displays 'Thunderbolt' and my social icons are still there (Twitter, Twitch and Youtube). The header on a skin page currently display a colour representative of the nation that that tank is for. I may change this to an image of the skin in action. (If anyone uses these skins and wants to help, cool screenshots without the UI are appreciated).
In non site related news, I'll have another post up sometime this weekend detailing whats coming for patch 9.20. Theres a skin (that Ive already talked about) and a remodel (that I really havent).
Also, Ive added a new addon to the Primo Victoria skin removal. Ive replaced the crew with standard Swedish crewmen, the Band of Brothers icon with the standard Brothers in Arms icon and the Sabaton voice with the standard Swedish voices. If there are issues with the voices, please let me know. I dont own the tank, so I cant check it.
I think that covers everything. If not I'll include it in my next post. Take care guys, and see you on the battlefield.
The Primo Victoria came out today... and I could probably go full on rant mode about how WG should release a non-skinned version for people who want proper camo, a proper crew layout and just generally dont like Sabaton... but I wont.
Instead I will release a permaskin removal for the Primo Victoria so you dont have to see the skin while in battle.
Maybe WG will grow a brain and release the normal, 4-man crew, version. Probably not... but its good to have hopes. Its up on the Permaskin Removals page now.
Enjoy the skin!
So theres 4 new skins on the permaskins removal page... one each for the 4 tanks of the Berlin Quartet. Ive had these skins for a while now but never released them because Milkym4n always had his Ich Kliene Berliner set that did the same thing... but he doesnt have those anymore, and I forgot about these until today... so have some skins! They come with the usuall stuff that all my skins come with... I guess theyre technically not new... but thats not important.
Oh... that last photo shouldnt be there... oh well. Anyway, I think that covers most currently released skinned tanks...
OH! This wasnt big enough to get its own post at the time, but if you used the IS-7 with raised machine gun, you should redownload it. I fixed a modeling error in it. The turret is now properly flipped the right way round...
Dunno how I missed it before... but its fixed now. If the antenna on top of your turret is on the right hand side as youre looking at the tank, redownload.
So, I've not actually posted on the blog here in a while... since the Chrysler K came out actually. Ive been keeping the other pages updated so thats at least worth something right? Theres been an update to the Chrysler, by the way. Milkym4n made some custom tracks for it which he allowed me to redistribute along with my skin:
If you haven't updated the skin since it came out, go ahead and redownload it to get those fancy ass tracks. :D
Update 9.20 is around the corner and its bringing it with it a drastic change: The ISU-152 is losing its BL-10 gun. The legendary troll cannon is no more. But fear not... I am ahead of the problem, just take a look at this image from the 9.20 test server:
The BL-10 shall never die. Expect this skin to come out the day 9.20 drops.
Theres also going to be another permaskin removal coming out soon after that aswell (probably). Wargaming has put a skinned version of the STG medium tank in the test client, called the STG Guard, so I'll do my best to have that skin out shortly after the tank releases, if I decide to buy the tank. (Skinning can be a bit more time consuming when the tank isn't readily available in the garage, and Im not made of money (unfortunately)).
Im also dabbling with actual remodels again (in the vain of my T26E1-1 and IS-7 w/ raised machine gun) so there may be some of that in the future too, but further off than the other stuff above.
