With 1.4 just about to come out on NA, and the clan wars campaign finally over, Ive been busy getting several of my updates done that had been sitting on a list. Heres whats currently awaiting approval on the ModHub for 1.4:
- Ive fixed the MoE placement on the Caernarvon's 20pdr gun. - Ive fixed the MoE placement on the T-44-100. - Additionally Ive added support for the remaining 4 T-44-100 variants in the game files (B, R, Y and K). - Ive fixed the MoE placement on the main gun of the ISU-130. - Ive readded the crash model of the BL-10 to the ISU-152-2. - Ive change the M103A2's engine exhaust from gas to diesel. - Ive removed the frontal hull inscription from the M51 Super Sherman. I wanted to get it working properly, but right now it just wont work, so Im removing it until I can get it to work, or until I can add it somewhere else. If you have an inscription there, Id suggest removing it before installing this update. For now that all the updates that actually have changes. Everything else should work in 1.4, but I'll be reuploading everything to the ModHub anyway, to update ther version numbers to version 1.4. ~ Avalon304

The time is almost upon us for a new patch. Rumors says the 13th or the 14th of this month. That means there will be updates appearing here. You guys pretty convincingly want the large decals added to my remodels, so once patch 1.3 drops I will be updating affected tanks with them. (There was a preliminary list in my last blog post). Thats not all though, theres a new remodel undergoing review on WGMods right now. Its a remodel for the Tiger II, which I recently bought back and have been enjoying. Here it is: The Pz. Befw. VIB Tiger II 'Faust' is an upgraded Tiger II, designed to serve as a command tank. As such the tank was given improved radios (thanks to TheFalkonett for allowing me to use his star antenna on this tank). In addition the tank has received upgraded range finding equipment and a longer 10,5cm l/70 main gun.
I had a great time making this remodel. When it goes live it should appear here: https://wgmods.net/2619 ... I hope... if it doesnt I'll update this link and the tanks page on this site. In more general WoT news, the holiday event is starting up soon, meaning a festive garage and things to collect for cool camo styles and other things as well as the likely return of the Christmas loot boxes. So thats gonna be fun. (If you guys wanted to send some my way I wouldnt be opposed... :P But seriously, you dont have to). Either way guys enjoy the holidays, because after 1.3 drops and I update for large decals I'll be taking time off from this for a month or so and just not doing anything, barring critical updates if something is uber broken. After that I'll come back and have something new hopefully. Take care! ~ Avalon304 Those of you who may have been paying attention to my WGMods page may have seen the Mk. 3 Caernarvon remodel already out there. If you havent you should go check it out, its pretty awesome. I had originally intended to have another remodel completed before announcing it, but Im not quite happy with how the other one is turning out, so Im gonna hold off on it for now, and move on to something else, but in the mean time I figured I should announce the Action X. As you can see from the pictures, it also includes support for the Royal Corps preset that came with the tank, so thats nice. I figure I should also address the 1.3 large decals feature. Im not a huge fan of them and I dont really have the intent to support them on my remodels, but Im gonna leave that up to you guys. Are you interested in seeing the large decals on my remodels? 1.3 brings them to tier 8 premiums and tier 10 tanks, so this affects:
No real future news right now. I have plans, but Im not sure which ones will actually take shape... so, Im not going to mention them right now. ~ Avalon304 Hmmm... I guess it has. Well Ive not been sitting around doing nothing, I can assure you. Ive got a new remodel for you, as well as updates to 3 previous remodels for patch 1.1 First up is the new arrival: the AMX 30 'Intrepid': 'Intrepid' takes bits and pieces from the AMX 30 B and the AMX Canon d'Assault 105 and combines them onto one of the best tier 9 medium platforms in the game currently. I fell in love with the AMX 30 prot fromt he irst battle, and its pretty close to the top of my favourite tanks list, so I thought it was time to give her a proper remodel. She fully supports update 1.1's addition of the cosmetic paints to tier 9 tanks out of the box. Maybe one day I'll move on to the AMX 30 B, but not any time soon. (Which is too bad, because I quite liek the 30 B whenever I play it on the test server). You can find 'Intrepids' page up in the menu above, where you'll also find a link to download it from WGMods.
Anyway, speaking of cosmetic paints 3 old remodels have been updated to support the system:
Anyway, as of this post, no other old mods have been moved into .wotmods, but I intend to do that later today, so expect another post sometime tonight (8/29/18), with an update on those, but I believe the last 3 permaskin removals will make the conversion (along with a fixes to 2 of them),and I will probably move the Classic T71 Restoration and M48A1 Restoration over as well, (though the latter depends on if I can get it working well with the cosmetic paint system, if not it wont). After that, Im not sure... I have some ideas... but nothing too concrete yet. As for my remodel update cycle, I intend to move to a monthly-ish publishing schedule following Wargamings updates with World of Tanks. That means posts on the blog will show up right around each new patch (if theres anything for me to announce AND barring any major updates I feel the need to push out). Similarly, you may not see version numbers change on WGMods immediately following a new patch. Rest assured that unless something major changes, its very likely that all of my remodels and permaskin removals WILL work in the latest version of World of Tanks, even if the version number on WGMods is out of date. Oh yea... still on my quest to somehow acquire an ISU-130. No luck yet. Will persevere... but beyond creating video content for WG (of which I dont think I have the skill nor the personality) I may have set an impossible goal for myself... Im pretty good at that actually... Anyway, thats all for now. Keep an eye out for that post detailing the next batch of .wotmod conversions later today. ~ Avalon304 Hey guys! Been a while since I posted here, but I have a new remodel and some more updates for you guys! On the remodel front I have the returen of a classic. One of my first sorta remodels: the Sherman Firefly IVCY. But this time its a bit more American... and a bit more detailed! So this is the M4A3E8 Firefly. Its return is thanks in part to The_Chieftain's Tank Fest video, where he talks about some of the M4A3 Fireflies that were converted for the US by the British Army. It is also in part, based on the physical model by Steven J Zaloga which you can find here.
Included are the same wonderful suspension system by Miruku_nyan that was included on the original model along with the counter shaded barrel by Desyatnik_Pansy, which is now the default option. (If there is sufficient demand I can include a non-countershaded barrel as an addon). I hope you enjoy this hypothetical look at what a US Firefly may have looked like. You can find it in the World of Tanks>Remodels>USA menu above. I should note that at the time of writing this post, there is an update on WGMods waiting for approval that fixes minor hull and turret geometry issues. Should these bother you (or should you have not yet gotten this remodel) it should be updated and available by tomorrow. Speaking of updates, both the IS-7 with raised machine gun and T26E1-1 Super Pershing both received minor updates to fix texture issues when in battle. Additionally the T26E5 Patriot, AMX M4 49 Liberte and Object 252U Defender skin removals have made their way onto WGMods. I'll be updating the version numbers for all of my already approved remodels and skins over the course of the weekend. Theres no need to redownload them however, you can continue to use remodels and skins over subsequent patches. But if it makes you feel better to have the most up to date version, all of them should be updated by Monday at the latest. As for upcoming things. I dunno... if a tank strikes my fancy it may get a remodel. I dont really have any concrete plans. Do you have suggestions? Leave them in the comments below. Take care and see you on the battlefield! ~ Avalon304 |
